Thank you so much for registering for the Ilkley Clean River Group Town Meeting on Thursday to scrutinise the plans to upgrade the sewage works to reduce the pollution at Ilkley from raw sewage, and from poorly treated sewage; and to question the impact for Yorkshire residents of the Yorkshire Water plans on our bills.

Important information
1. There are two briefings attached.
(a) One from the Clean River Group, and
(b) one from the Environment Agency.
As yet we have not had anything to share from Yorkshire Water.
Please can you read in advance so that we can spend the time on questions, otherwise the ‘speakers’ will spent the whole meeting talking at us and we won’t get our views/ questions across:
2. Overall we will be the first river in England to get this investment based on our campaign. We are really pleased that the tenacity of Ilkley residents to get our river cleaned up is actually leading to a real investment for our river. So we want to support the direction, but question its value for money and ‘who pays’.
3. There will be some refreshments (tea and coffee/ cakes) on a help yourself basis and pay as you feel
4. We kick off at 5.30 so do be in your seats by then in Ilkley Grammar School B Hall.
